Been wanting a kayak for a couple years now and my wife finally said quit talking about it and go find one, so here I am. Nothing fancy. Sit-on-top, somewhere around 10 to 12 ft, stable enough that a guy my age doesn't end up swimming in November. Mostly for Lake Fayetteville and Beaver Lake, and maybe Lee Creek down by Devils Den if we ever get a decent rain. It's been dry as a bone lately so I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Budget is around $200-300 depending on shape. Paddle and life vest thrown in would be great but not a dealbreaker. Small dings and scratches are fine, I just don't want a cracked hull or one that's been left in the sun for ten summers.
I don't mind driving. Out Hwy 170 toward West Fork or Winslow is no problem, I'm out that way for the football games half the time anyway. Can pick up any day after 4 or most of the weekend.
Also, if anybody would rather swap some work than take cash, I do home repair. Decks, doors, drywall patching, leaky faucets, that kind of thing. Happy to work something out.
Might help clear out somebody's garage too. Hope this helps
