Walked down from the Square on Saturday afternoon, which I've done for years, and something felt off to me. Couldn't put my finger on it at first. A few storefronts I swear were open last spring are dark now, and the stretch past the Walton Arts Center seemed quieter than a fall weekend ought to be. Then after dark it was louder than I remember, and I had a hard time finding anywhere to park.
Maybe I'm just an old man grumbling. I'm 65+ and I remember when you could find a spot on Dickson without circling three times. Still, I'd like to know if others who go down there regularly are seeing the same thing, or if it's only me.
I'm not trying to run the street down. I like it down there and always have. I just want to know what changed. Anybody know what's going on with the empty spots? And is parking worse for you, or have I just picked bad times to go?
