Got out early before the cold really set in and wow. Mist sitting low over the water, maples at the edge of the park just about peaked, and hardly a soul out there besides a couple of walkers and one fella with a very patient beagle. I took a picture but it doesn't do it justice, never does 🍂

I walked Wilson Park first and then drove up to Lake Fayetteville to see if anybody was fishing the bank. Saw two guys out on the water in a little jon boat, no idea if they were catching anything. My husband always said November was when the crappie got going, and I've been itching to get a line wet again now that it's finally cooled off.

Anyone been out lately? Wondering if it's worth hauling my chair and tackle box up there this week or if I should wait for it to warm up a little. Also if anybody knows whether the water's been low, I'd appreciate it...

Anyway, I came home and pulled out a stack of orange and rust fabric I've been saving. Can't help it, the colors out there will be a quilt by Christmas 😄

Those maples are gorgeous right now, and a quilt by Christmas sounds lovely. Side question: where's everyone's favorite breakfast spot after a morning walk like that?

Bump is right. Wilson maples are paeked, and the first good wind will strip them. Go soon.

Hope this helps
