Anybody else get blindsided by this one? It was a nice 70 around lunch and by the time I got off work it felt like somebody flipped a switch. The wind coming in from the west, off toward Siloam Springs, just cuts right through a jacket. Had the truck doors open at the hardware store and my hands were numb by the time I got back to the lot.
First real freeze of the year is supposed to be close, so if you haven't yet, now's the time. Unhook the garden hoses from the outside spigots, and put those foam covers on if you've got them, they run a couple bucks. I've fixed too many split pipes over the years that could've been avoided with a ten minute walk around the house. Also swap your furnace filter before you really need the heat, cause the first cold night is when everybody's furnace decides to quit and then the repair guys are booked out a week.
And for those of us who'll be in the stands Friday night... long johns, stadium blanket, and something hot to drink. I'm too old to be tough about it anymore. Thinking about hauling the thermos out of the garage.
How'd it hit you all up on the Hill vs. out toward Farmington? Seems like the wind is worse out west of town.
Hope this helps
